Adobe Flash Player downloads as a binary file ?

I go on to youtube and get this message:

Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player.

so i click that link and it takes me to the website where i try to download it,
but then it says something about me donwloading a binary file?
help ?
i love youtube, and i need it !

Install the latest player directly from adobe:
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

But first uninstall all versions of flashplayer in add/remove programs in control panel, as they may conflict with the new install.
