I add notes to existing notes in my Tx on the run, then when I sync, the notes disappear, and only to original information remains not the additional note,

This is annoying as I update infomation regularly

My hot sync is set to "sync the files"

What is going wrong,

Hey sorry about that. On your desktop click the hotsync icon, and click custom. Scroll down to the bottom of the list, and there will be system. Make sure it says handheld overwrites desktop. If not, change it, and make it default. I may be wrong but your problem sounds like it is set to desktop overwrites handheld and you loose you added notes when syncing. Just a guess.

If not system look for "backup". As GP stated this should also be noted as "handheld overwrites desktop".

You should also look at the notes conduit and it should be set to "sync".

Then look on the hot sync option on the handheld, pull down the menu and look at the "conduit setup" in here. Nearly everything should be checked - in fact, everything should be checked unless you seriously don't want something backedup during a hot sync.

Ok and if none of the above works - post your last hot sync log and we'll figure out what's not right.

THANK GOODNESS Mooseman is alive and onto it, All is fine with Sync, i have sorted the Document to go out so don't worry about that.

So in Contacts there is an area for notes, this has info i want to put about the contact, then when I add infor to this note is does not Sync it evaporates, why, it used NOT to why.

Ok - lets see some more - go to Hot Sync, right click choose custom and then hit print screen on your keyboard.

Then launch Paintbrush and then choose Paste from the edit menu - this will do a screen capture of the Conduit settings - you may have to do this a couple of times. Save the image as a JPEG file format and attach to another post.

I'll look them over - because this has got me stumped at the moment.

I don't use the Palm Desktop and it's apparent that you do so I need to see some more of your settings?

Create a note on the handheld attached to a contact (Use a none descript none existing contact) and then force the hot sync to Handheld Overwrites Desktop for the Contact conduit.

Then open the Palm Desktop and see what happens - then post the results using the same method as before. But be careful not to show any private information that you don't want out on the net - or email me the results. Email is posted under my user info.
