Adding new characters to the show: The good times and the bad

I loved Bean Bunny as a Muppet. But as a Muppet Baby, he wasn't the same character. he was kinda depressing. It's like the writers didn't even like him or know what to do with the character. He always just seemed to be doing his own thing. I think he was added because I heard the daughter of the network head didn't like Baby Bunsen or Baby Beaker. Which is a shame, since there's always room for Bunsen and Beaker, IMO.

Wait, my memory of Rugrats probably isn't that good but are you saying you got into it when Dil and Kimi were added but after Susie was added? That must mean you had to have seen a few episodes with Susie in it and if you think it was bad when Dil and Kimi were added, you had to have seen a few of the beginning episodes, right?

I don't see what was wrong with Silver. He's not supposed to be a clone of Sonic, and I don't really see how his story how is story was all that bizarre. Typical, yes, but not bizarre. Shadow was fine in his first appearance (and in Battle) but beyond that he hasn't really done anything...

Anyway, I can't really think of BAD cast additions off the top of my head. When Angela was introduced in Gargoyles I wasn't a big fan of her... but uh... now I think she's cool so I guess that doesn't count.

Static Shock
She-Bang, I found to to be interesting because she's genetically engineer.
Rugrats
Kimi, from Rugrats, I don't know much about her characters.

Scooby-Doo
Scappy-Doo , he did save Scooby Doo's rating, but he is hated by fans

Actually what I ment was I got into Rugrats in 1998. It was a few months before they had Dil. Susie was already a member of the Rugrat crew by then and I'd just assumed that she has been there since the beginning.

Does She-Bang really count as a new addition? She was only in 3 episodes. That seems more like a recurring character to me.

Interestingly, Shanice's 3rd appearance, "She-Back!" ended as though Shanice was going to become a full time member of Team Static, but she never appeared again for the remainder of the series.

Is that the one where the child star goes apepoop and kidnaps her old co-stars? I love that one. I really do. I didn't feel the episode where she was paired up with Killer Crock, though. That one seemed iffy. But then most of the WB episodes were.
