I have a 9242 in a central media room and distribute tuner 2 to 4 other rooms in the house. Since I hate lugging remotes around l'd like to add a second UHF remote to leave in one of those other rooms. ie. leave a UHF remote in our bedroom upstairs and leave one in our home gym downstairs.

If I buy a Dish Network UHF remote on EBAY, will it work with the Tuner 2??? I noticed they're quite cheap. I phone BEV and tech support just kept asking me why I wanted a second UHF remote when the 9242 already comes with 1 UHF remote that can be used anywhere in the house

I currently use a Harmony 890 Pro to work my great room gear and do not want to invest in a second 890 pro for mega $$$ to leave in our gym downstairs. I didn't look at BEV's price but I'm sure it's over priced like evrything else...

The Dish UHF remotes work perfectly. Just be sure to get the correct type (Pro for newer HD receivers.) This question has been asked and answered before. You might want to search the EV and Remotes threads for more information.

Thanks. I was searching through the forum and didn't find anything on this. I'll query your suggestion...

My UHF remote has 6.3 listed on the back. Do I need to go with another 6.3? I see a lot of 6.0 remotes for sale on EBAY but want to make sure that version would be compatible.

If running in dual mode I am pretty sure the pro 6.0 will work and 6.2 and 6.3 will work.

If running in single mode the 6.0 may not work. The 6.2 and 6.3 will work.

Just to close off the thread....I purchased a Dish Network 6.0 Pro UHF remote off EBAY and it works perfect. Now I can leave a remote in each room and have full reign of Tuner 2.

BEV tech has no clue...
