i have 2 punch P3 in a custom ported box with a kenwood 1800w amp. their loud but i want to make then louder. so adding another amplifer will that make it louder? if not what can i do?

I'm assuming that you are running either a KAC-9104D or a KAC-9103D. Both are rated at 500 @ 4 ohms, 900 @ 2 ohms, and 1800 watts max. Both amps are horribly overrated. I've bench tested both amps. Neither would put out more than 644 watts at 2 ohms.

To get a little more output from the subs that you have, I would ditch the kenwood amp altogether. Get an good quality amp that is rated at around 1000 watts at your desired final ohm load. Some good brands to look at are Precision Power, Soundstream, Cadence, JL audio, Sundown, Digital Designs, and RD Audio. All of which will produce their rated power at any load.

Another thing you can do to greatly change the output of a sub system is change the enclosure design.

is it a class d amp or 2 channel? what size subs(to know how many rms watts they can take), what ohms

that amp cant possibly be giving out 1800 watts rms

Do not add another amp. If that kenwood amp is putting out 1800w rms then you are way overpowering those p3's. They should have combined 1000 watts rms going to them and combined 2000w peak. You may want to try a different amp that is going to match rms rating for those subs. I own them and they put out an unbelivable amount of power and sound if wired correctly.
