Hi, my name is Dan and I'm addicted to the narcotic Oxycontins. I've been doing them for about a year now taking anwhere between 7-10 80mg Oxycontins a day and today i haven't taken any of them yet and i'm starting to feel sick does anyone know what i will endure through the next couple of days if i just continue not to take them? I've tried the drug called SUBOXONE to try and quit but had an allergic reaction to it. I've never been through withdrawl before does anyone know what will happen, well what to expext the next couple of days if i continue not to take any Oxycontin?

I can only tell you my experience with oxycodone 15mg immediate release.

I went through about 3 days of flu like symptoms, muscle twitching, hot and cold flashes, I couldn't get out of bed, I felt very depressed, got brain zaps etc.

It is certainly no picnic, but once you are over that 4 day hump, it gets a lot better. There IS a light at the end of the tunnel.

Sorry my post isn;t very positive, but I believe there is no 'magic' fix for withdrawals.

I was taking 75mg of roxicodone 2 times a day for about a month. So, I can't compare it to what you might feel when you stop. Everyones body is different.

Best of luck to you. Btw, I tried tapering down for about a week, and it didn't seem to work. From what I understand, the tapering process neeRAB to be done over several weeks to be optimately effective.

Of coarse you will have W/D'S and you can bet they will be bad. The dose you are taking is 800 mgs a day. I don't think I have ever heard of anyone taking that high of a dose per day. Are you sure your taking that much or could that be a type o. I am very worried about you as this is a BIG addiction. I would fess up to your Dr or find a good addiction Dr and get some medical help to help keep you off the drugs in the future. You will need some assistance coming off a dose this high medically and emotionally.

There are support groups you may want to go to once your W/D'S are over to help you stay clean.
If your getting clean because you want to.

Are you quitting because your out of pills or because you want to Quit. if you want to Quit there are a lot of people on this board that can help you, if that is your plan. Many people here have been in your shoes and will offer you help if you want to Quit.

You will feel like you have the flu. a very bad case of it. You will have diaharrea, vomiting, the shakes, sweating, chills, and your bones will ache. a hot bath will help with the aches and pains. you can take Imoddium for the runs. Make sure you stay close to a toilet and get in bed because you won't feel like doing anything but sleeping and hitting the John. It will take about a week before you feel better.

Good luck and don't be afraid to contact a Dr for some help. There are medications a Dr can give you to help you through the worst of it. Please don't do this alone, your dose is so high that you will be really sick.. please get some help!

I used to post on here about a year ago because I too had a terrible opiate addiction. I was wondering if you take the Oxy orally or IV? The reason I ask is that my biggest problem came after the physical WD's were over and the depression kicked in. Not only did I miss the dope but I really missed the needles. This will sound really stupid to those who never used IV but it is very real. I even found myself empty plunging knowing I wouldnt get high but just to feel it again. Sorry Im rarabling on, just trying to let you know what to expect. YOU CAN BEAT THE PHYSICAL WD'S. You just need to remeraber that it takes a long time for your brain to join "the home team" again. Hang in there Dude.

Dan WELCOME!

To be honest... I am extremely worried for you. I think with the amount of pills a day and the high dose you are on call for help medically. You will probably be best to wean down slowly because that is a lot of meRAB you are on. For me I was on Oxycontin 20 mg twice a day and 4 percocets a day and I had a heck of a time weaning down.. So if I can give you any advice it would be to GET HELP. We will all be here to support you because trust me.. YOU WILL NEED IT.

How are you doing today? Have you still not taken anything? Hang in there.. If you are ready to quit.... get the appropriate help and you can succeed.... We are here for you! Please update us!

You will be on my mind and in my prayers Dan.
