Hi - I will be getting an HTC Desire at the end of the month, and was wondering whether you can take a geotagged photo and then attach that to a contact in the contact list?

The reason i want to do this is when i need to go see that person i want to be able to use the getagged image as a feed into google directions to easily navigate to the person's premises.

Is this possible?

Thanks.

Good question.

To be honest, I don't know. But I'd be very surprised if you could. The reason for this is that the geolocation information is added to the meta information within the JPG. When you add an image to a contact the image is copied and the copy is changed in size (usually smaller) to the size that Google use for their contact pictures. This strips out the meta information from the JPG. The copy is stored on Google's servers and isn't a stand-alone file any more.

You can achieve most of what you want. You can add an address to the contact and navigate to that (I think).
