Hello everybody. My brother has a cell phone with verizon. It's the Nationwide Select - 450 minutes plan ($59.99 a month). I'm wanting to add a line to it. I want to get umlimited text messaging (unlimited to verizon and 500 to other carriers) too. About how much is this gonna be monthly? I've been told $10 for the line and $10 for the text messaging. Is that right? Also can we just add a line or will we have to upgrade to a family share plan? Thanks!

It's not just $10. He's on an individual plan and would have to switch to a family plan. And the cheapest family plan with unlimited texting is $99.

Okay. Well in that case, could we get the Nationwide Basic Family Shareplan with 700 minutes ($69.99) and then just add unlimited text to both lines for $10 a line. Then the total a month would be $90. Would that work? Thanks!

As long as they still offer the $10 unlimited text plans or they're still in the system. I believe these were the plans that allow a certain amount of texts to other carriers and unlimited text to other VZW customers, right? Otherwise, what I said earlier still applies.

Taxes/fees differ by state (and maybe even county), so it depends on where you live. I live in NYC and taxes/fees on cell phones are roughly 23.71%. If I remember correctly, NYC has the highest taxes/fees for cell phones, so unless you live here, you taxes/fees should be lower. How much lower, I can't say for sure. Again, that would depend on where you live.
