adam ant film?

apperantly they're making a film about the 80s popstar Adam Ant and russell brand is going to be playing him! anyone else heard this? I hope its true I love them both!
 
I am a HUGE Ant fan but I really I hope they don't go ahead with this. I just don't believe enought people would want to see it either. Plus, Brand is nothing like him and totally a person who will be out of fashion in twelve months time.
 
Can I ask the OP where they heard about this? I googled it and all I found was some dubious website ('drowned in sound' it was called).

I'd love to see a decent adaptation of his life as I grew up with his music, but can't see Brand playing him somehow.

I would suspect that they would only make a film of his life if he died, unfortunately........

As I said, I can't see the idea having legs, but I guess stranger things have happened........ :)
 
I think he'd be a terrible Adam Ant. Can you imagine him doing his own versions of tracks like Prince Charming, Physical or Antmusic and changing the lyrics so he can go on and on about his "ball bags" or his "dinkle"?

I would hardly call him a brilliant actor, an amusing comedy turn, but not a brilliant actor - especially not going by his actual acting performances that I've seen in things like White Teeth and Penelope. A brilliant actor is someone like Chiwetel Ejifor, Robert De Niro or Jack Nicholson. In my eyes at least.
