Acute Pharyngitis?

Hey guys i dont know if this is the right forum but Ive had swollen tonsils for about 5 days now i went to the walgreens clinic deal they got and she did a strep test and it came back neg. She said that i had a viral something and on the paper she put acute pharyngitis. Its been fine during the day but at night i gota take ibuprofen or i cant get my mind of my throat and my tonsils being so big. My throat really isnt that sore its mostly the discomfort from the glanRAB and tonsils i guess. She also said i had a little Post nasal drip and to take claritin. Lend me some insight. I also quit dipping(smokeless tobacco) the same day i got the symptoms.
 
Had it for 5 days now went back to doctor and now they put me on penicillin. Only thing thats bothering me is the diarrhea i had before i started taking the pen today.
