**Acura legend starting problem** electrical? vss? main relay?

hi i have a 92 acura legend which lately my car has been giving me trouble starting. it sounds like it wants to turn on but doesnt turn over. I have noticed that lately while driving car it would feel like it wants to turn off but the d4 light would blink then car would be fine, other then that car runs perfect. Anyways the other day i was in my car again trying to start it and i got mad kicked the panel under the steering wheel and my check engine light went off and d4 flashed then i tried tostart the car agin and it started. So basically now when it doesnt start i try to start it when it doesnt go on i kick panel the engine light goes off .d4 flashes and when i try to start it again it starts. what do you think problem is? please help. Electrical short? main relay? vss and if vss would that prevent my car from starting?
 
Check your starter if it's not the starter then have someone look at the engine cuz it could be more serious if the engine block is cracked it will blow up sooner or later. I would have someone look at it just to be safe cuz the last thing u want to happen is u be driving along and the engine goes up and then ur stuck with no ride.
 
Vss has nothing to do with the car starting. It could be the cause of the flashing D4 and check engine lights though.
