OHHHH, this is a loaded question. I have been using acupuncture for about the past eight years and I currently am a believer, but it really depenRAB what you are trying to accomplish. Also, like anything, it is really important to find the right practioner.

What are your issues that you would like to be addressed by acupuncture?

I have worked with three acupuncturists and I think they all would agree that acupuncture works better for some issues than for others. The guy I currently go to only deals with orthopedic patients/clients.

Obviously, if there is something structural wrong with your back, acupuncture is not going to have an effect. It may help the pain somewhat, but it probably will not heal something that requires surgery.

Also, acupuncture is not a fast-acting treatment. It usually takes a series of treatments and sometimes the healing is so slow that you're not really sure it is going on at all.

I don't know what you are specifically interesting in learning. I'm happy to answer any questions, if I can. Also, there are many older threaRAB talking about acupuncture.

I ussed accupuncture for a year. It did not clear up my back problems, which I did not expect it to do. But it did help open the meridians going down my legs and that helped with the nerve pain that I was experiencing. I went for a year and was well pleased.

I think I am going to give acupuncture a good have lower back pain, I have been given exercises from the doctor been doing them for about 6 months with little effect.

Be sure you give it an opportunity to work. You won't know much for one or two treatments. I hope you will get some results from acupuncture.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.
