Good question; actually, this is a strange thing. I am both content and discontent. I am content with the things that I like and I gain utility from them. However, because of that, I must sacrifice other things such as good friends, potential business partners, or even hot babes (yeah, I'm serious). So I am also discontent when I realize that.
I don't think being yourself is an option in some circumstances. You must change your personality when dealing with you greedy, stingy, and cunning clients. You must find all ways to please them and suck the money out of them otherwise you lose your job and that means living on the street. So even if you WANT TO BE YOURSELF by telling them that they are fucking worthless dick suckers, and that you are twice as smart than they'd ever be, you can't. You just have to change yourself to become this easy-going, submissive, and generous employee who'd do anything for your clients.
You must also change your personality when you want to get together with a hot babe. So even if you ARE a nerd, you must not talk about quantum mechanics with her. You got to PRETEND that you love her parties and her WORTHLESS, SHALLOW and bitchy friends who think they are fashion divas (and who really makes you throw up).
For me, I can do the first one, but not the second.
