Actors who's films you automatically avoid

Agree totally about Billy Crystal. I wonder why they chose to Throw Mamma from the Train .
 
I find it both offensive and bigotted to refer to members of this forum as 'mooks'.
In my community the word 'mook' is often used as a substitute for the 'C' word. In a rare, provocative scene from the popular 80s Scottish TV series 'Take The High Road', a character whose line was "oh, aye, take a look," accidently (whilst sipping tea on the newsagents' set) said 'one-eye, takes a mook', whilst a low level camera angle had top shelf magazines in shot. Some years later the show was axed.
 
Are you suggesting that the use of the word 'mook' on Take the High Road directly led to its cancellation!?

Personally, I don't have a problem with the use of the word 'mook', altho there's obviously a cultural gap here...
 
Just started reading this thread, how can people criticise actors like Tom Hanks and Robert De Niro, probably 2 of the best actors. I also don't agree with avoiding films because of the actor, if anything you avoid the writers :)
 
The writers mean nothing in most Hollywood blockbusters, so nobody remembers their names. These people are not Woody Allen or Paul Schroeder, so you'd know if you like to see their movies or you avoid them. A movie is a vehicle for Tom Cruise or Schwarzenegger or whoever to star in, and a writer (and usually a director as well) is just someone to do the job.
 
I'd agree with those on the basis that the sort of *action* movies they're liable to be in are so not for me.

I would never bother with another Julia Roberts film. Has this woman ever made a film that isnt crap?
 
that's weird. never even seen your post before i wrote mine.
got to disagree wi van damme though. he was my hero while growing up. cannae say i've seen any of his more recent films though
