Activating a Audiovox 8600 with Verizon

Hey guys.. I just got an Audiovox 8600 from ebay, and I wanted to activate it. i was looking for the ESN number on this phone, and all I can find is the Serial Number. The serial number is 8 digits long, and I thought if it was in decimal form then it would be 11 digits, or if it was in hex it would be 8 digits.

I was wondering if the ESN is something different than the serial number which is located under the battery.

It should be right above the serial number.. I have the 8610, and it is right there, on number 2 on the little list they have... It should be there..
