Thanks for the update! I only breakout on my jawline too... Guess I'm make an appt too.. thanks again!

I have been on trinessa for a few years now and my acne just wont go away no matter what i do. When i was on ORTHO TRI-CYCLEN i remeraber that my skin was usually clear. Im going to the gynecologists tomorrow and I think I may switch back. Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this.

I'm currentky on Lutera, and my face before it has been clear except for during the time of the month, it's been a year since I've been on it and it has broken my face out badly :( Do you think Ortho could help me? I have scars that I'm going to try to go to the dermatologist about and hope and pray that something can be done about that.

Ortho could help you, but remeraber there is a difference between Ortho Tri-cyclen and Ortho Tri-cyclen Lo. Obviously there are varying results with each - and it does depend on the person, but if you want to give it try and switch, I'd try it... Can't hurt, you know?

Do you know which one is better for acne; Ortho Tri-cyclen and Ortho Tri-cyclen Lo?
natalie87, which did your Dr put you on?
Did anyone encounter weight gain when switching BCs? I never did but I guess it could happen?

I used to be on Ortho TriCyclen for a year, and then I switched to TriNessa, this will be my third week on it, and my face is completely broken out. I never got acne when I was on Ortho. I'm thinking about switching too.

Hi guys, I was on Ortho years ago and also don't remeraber having any issues with acne. However, I've been on Trinessa for a couple years now and haven't had any major probelems with acne - I would just get a few around that time. I started breaking out bad about a year ago and tried Proactive for a full year but it only helped a little. I went to a dermatolgist and he put me on Differin. I've been on it for 2 weeks now and its only gotten worse! Now that I've read this thread, it has me thinking if Trinessa could be the cause of the acne and maybe switching back to Ortho would be the solution. Please let me know what your gyno thinks and if you do swtich if you see any improvement. Thanks!

If you think it might be the problem, I would switch back to the one you're most comfortable taking. That's what I did.. I switched around until I found one that I felt good taking (orthotricyclen). Good luck.

Does acne at the jaw line usually mean it's hormonal acne?
I just started breaking out really bad the last few months, after hardly ever breaking out. Of course its all along the jaw line, one here or there on the forehead, but an excessive amount close to the ears all the way to my mouth.

Sorry for butting into your thread... But if this is true, then I need to go on birth control.

Well i went to the doctor and she said that it could be the problem. She had heard of similar issues. So as soon as I am done with this pack of trinessa i'm going to switch back. I hope it helps, i'm only breaking out around my jawline and mouth so i know its hormonal. It will probably take around 3 months to start helping if it will at all. I guess i'll just have to wait and see. I've been using proactive and its helping a little but it dries my face out so bad. This whole situation is just so frustrating.

I know for some people that breaking out in those areas its hormonal. There is no way to tell if birth control would help unless you went on it. It depenRAB on the individual it doesn't help all people. I don't even know if it will help me. It did when I was 15 but it may not now. My doctor just told me to go with what worked for me before. If you go to the ortho website it says that its the first birth control to improve the quality of your skin, but only for certain people. I gained like 10 pounRAB when I first went on it so it wasn't too big of a deal. I lost it soon after when my body got used to it.

I have been on Trinessa for almost a year now...and my skin looks amazing...I actully get compliments on it now. I have had trouble with my skin FOR YEARS...I am 27 now and every since I was 20 have had troublesome skin...I got lucky when I was a teenage...and then I got adult acne.

I have been on..Levlite...Yasmin....and Yaz and they all made my skin WORSE.

It took about 6 months before I saw any real improvement in my skin...but now the only time I break out is around my period..and its only a few here or there.

I guess every bcp reacts different ways with different people..
