Acid Reflux or Gerd or something else?

My doc has me on aciphex becuase she believes I have GERD. I am 22 by the way and I never get heartburn. This is why I was confused when she mentioned GERD. The main symptoms I am having is something in the throat feeling , minor chest pain, and occasional voice changing. Medication works a bit, I guess??? Hard to say because I still have the feeling in the throat, but the chest pain is all gone. I have had these symptoms for 12 weeks. I also had a barium swallow which showed nothing, not even a sign of GERD. What do you guys think?
 
Hi! Has anyone checked your tonsils or adenoiRAB? I have to say that I am 52 years old and have had my share of wrong diagnoses in the past and have persisted in going to two, three, or four different specialists to come to a proper diagnosis. Has anyone checked your sinuses for postnasal drip? Have you been to an allergist? I had very good luck visiting the allergist and they can test for things that the usual gp may not check for. This is where I would start. I have reflux and it doesn't bother me all the time but I do know when I get a flare it's because of the junk running down my throat. My doc said my tonsils looked fine... I have had a running nose for quite a while now, and I find myself coughing up a clear mucus. As far as allergies go, I have never had them, so I never considered them. I am going to my doctor again after school lets out in three weeks. She already mentioned going to a specialist because she was not 100% sure what I had.
 
I've had Acid Reflux for a few years now. I get a "full feeling" in my chest like it's full of fluid and I know I will have a hard time sleeping laying down. I take baking soda in water (1/2 to full tsp to a cup of water) and that helps. Its very salty but works. It's really a balancing act with your diet. Keep track of what you eat and if you get it. One doctor put me on heart meRAB because he said I had Angina(heart problem) but I just get an empty stomach in the middle of the night and the acid builRAB up.
