Acid reflux? Hiatal hernia?

Acid reflux runs in my family- I'm the only one who has never experienced it. But lately I'm wondering if I have, but didn't realize it because it doesn't give me a burning sensation. For years, I commonly have this feeling of pressure in my chest as if food is going down, but there's not.
Also, while I'm eating, I often feel like food gets "stuck" there, and then goes down slowly. I've felt this for years, but it's not something that really bothers me, so most of the time I never notice it. I was also wondering if it could be a hiatal hernia, which my mom also has had trouble with for a long time.
Thanks in advance.

Anything is possible. You will only know for sure by seeing a GI doc and getting scoped. My mom was DX'ed with BE and never ever even knew that she had GERD. I have had it for 9 years now, and I was the one getting treated while she has the pre stages of ca but never knew it, it was silent. So, it's best to have the scope, other tests and seek treatment if this has been happening over a long period of time. When I was scoped it showed a HH but there was no damage due to taking PPI's for 8 years at the time of the scope. Best of luck to you. FLFLOWERGIRL:)
