does anyone have a pain behind the left shoulder blade caused by acid reflux? just lately i've been getting this and it's really uncomfortable. I take Omeprazole but it hasn't been easing the symptoms much, it feels like a pressure behind the shoulder blade, like somone is pushing something up and is also painful, i think i might need to go and see my GP again.

I have pain all over the chest which is caused by reflux, my pain is mostly in the left side under the ribcage but I do get some pain in the shoulders as well, I hope this helps, you should go back to your doctor anyway, to give you some peace of mind.

Yes I have that pain often it's horrible, especially when you try to do something physical. Im on ranitdine right now just started taking it this week but Im already starting to feel better, that expensive Nexium does not work for me at all I wonder why it costs so much especially since long term use is so damaging.

Yes, I have gotten those nasty tonsil stones (they are gross aren't they?) and throat issues with my acid reflux. I am having a heck of a time with it right now because I can't tell if it's my allergies or the reflux or both. Probably both. Throat issues do go along with the reflux too.

I am fresh from going to the Doc AGAIN to see why I am having chest and shoulder pains!! Every single test for heart/lungs ect was NORMAL!! I went to another Doc and they said YES! Pains of the shoulder/back/chest (after other things have been ruled out) are symptoms of Acid Reflux/GERD!! I know I feel better about knowing this info, hope you do to1

i am due to have my tonsils out - i think the bacterial overload causing mucus into your stomach causes your stomach to create more acid.... to try to kill the germs. there is also the possibility that the germs from the tonsils leak into the stomach and cause an infection there and this creates gas which for me makes me burp and fart a lot and feel bloated! what do you think? i am going to have my tonsils out in a few emonths - i will let you know what happens to my reflux and burping situation. also, my tonsils are so swollen, hard and infected that one of them is actually resting on my little flap in my throat that controls whether food or air goes down into the stomach/lungs which i think is why i am burping more and having gas pains.... just ideas.... my reflux/burping started at the exact same time that my tonsil problem really flared up. i constantly have bleeding and pus from my tonsils. nice. the stones are caused by a bacteria called actinomyces israelii. they make the sulphur white/yellow club shaped balls of smelly yuck. i am worried that the infection may not just be confined to my tonsils now that i have had it for so long.

has anyone had tonsils out and found an improvement in digestive health?!

hi guys - bit of an odd question but.... do any of you have tonsil or throat problems/infections along with acid relux? I am particularly interested if any one has tonsil stones or infected tonsils... please let me know! thanks : )
p.s. i also get pressure pain in left shoulder and left side - i think it is due to gas more than acid though?

hi
i take omerprozole 4 hiatal hernia and i get all the symptoms u have plus ive already been to the doctors about pain under left shoulder blade and burning sensation following round to my chest he then kinda laughed and said it has nout to do with hiatal hernia now has got me really worried because of all the other diagnoses eg. lung cancer angina etc they r a joke them selves now i have surfed the internet and found people like yourself to assure me it has got to do with hiatal hernia all us peeps cant be wrong but what worries me the most if the doctors dont have a clue how can we be treated its bad enough living with the hiatal hernia what cant be cured either the doctors need to learn more about it since there is a rise in young people with the disease and to quickly find out what causes it instead of worrying us patients when were going through enough hope this helps you:)
