Hello, Im planning on starting accutane this month but through my reading up about this treatment my skin is going to be sensitive. Im concerned about this because Im a goalkeeper for my soccer team which means a lot of diving in dry grass/dirt/sand and Im thinking that while on accutane this might be too rough. Also, being an athlete Im worried about what I've read about people feeling pain in their joints/tendons. I take Omega fish oils as it is for joint relief so maybe that will help counter act this side-effect? And lastly, if I wait for my season to be over (starts august and enRAB early october) and start taking accutane when the weather begins to get cold and windy will this hurt my skin as well? Ive experienced chapping on my face from windy COLD weather before and thats pretty painful, but then again I was using face cream for acne religously.

BTW- i WILL be playing soccer while on accutane in the winter season most likely but that is all played indoors on nice turf so Im not so worried about skin, and maybe some of the side effects will subside by then.

I've got mild face acne, mild chest acne (worsening), severe cystic acne on my back, and very little acne on my upper arms/shoulders.

Please some suggestions or help! I want to start this now but I don't want a horrible season!

***EDIT*** Would also be nice if someone could give me an average on what they paid for the entire course(s) by month or bottle maybe? THANK YOU!

i'm not sure how sensitive your skin is but mine is kinda sensitive even before taking accutane. while i was on accutane, i get sunburn and redness very easily so i stay out of sunlight as much as possible.
and i do have initial breakout, which is completely horrible (not to scare you) but it freaked me out. it was until the 4th month that's when i see some good result. and i have to say it is the only meRAB that works for me. but right after i stay off, acne came back so i gotta stick to them. but that really depenRAB. everyone experienced different result.
about the price, i'm not sure how much they cost in US though.
hope this help and good luck on accutane.

I was on accutane 3 years ago during the winter and I played indoor soccer during that time (I was 22). During the winter, I had very dry lips (always have chapstick on you) but I put on lotion during the day and my skin felt fine. As for the soccer, I didn't have any problems at all and I stayed in one piece just fine. Good luck with it!
