Hi I started accutane on the 20th of March. I am taking 40g every other day. I am suposed to go up to 40g every day then 80 after a month. I will then be on it for 6 months total. Why are you only going on it for 30 Days? Thanks

sorry for the confusion. I meant that I was starting out on 40mg a day for the first month and then the derm will decide what to do from there. either keep it the same or up the dose. i will probably be on it for 4 months or more. so far I have experienced a little bit of the initial breakout. Not bad though. It has been 4 days so far! can't wait to see full results.

soooooo, it has been a little over a week since my first accutane pill. So far I have not experienced any of the side effects except for very slightly dry lips. I am breaking out slightly more than normal, but nothing serious. My skin seems a little bit drier than normal also. I do not have any acne on my chest or back and nothing has broke out there. I hope I don't break out on my chest or back either because I have heard that some people break out in areas that they never have before. I will update in another week or so. If this is what the initial breakout entails I will be happy cuz it is definately manageable!!

OMG! never ever ever pick a zit while on accutane!! i tried to pop this little bump on the side of my cheek yesterday and now it a HUGE crusty cyst. omg i dont want to leave the house. i had to call in sick to work today because it looks like a huge gross swollen sore. ewwww. so if anyone else out there is on accutane...do not TOUCH your face. My skin has never responded like this before. I am going to go into the derm on monday if it doesnt go down and get it injected.....sigh....why do i do this to myself? if i had just let it be

so about two weeks into it and so far so good! I only have ONE active pimple right now and it is developing right next to a little bump I tried to pop last week that turned into a a crusty inflamation (don't pop on accutane EVER!!!) go figure. only side effect is a little bit of dry lips. Not really experiencing any initial breakout- just blackheaRAB coming to the surface and then drying up and falling out- OK by me! my eyes seem a little dry too- nothin a couple of eye drops a day can't take care of. Also, my skin seems less oily - grrrreat! No depression, aches, fatigue..... I hope i won't experience an initial breakout-keeping my fingers crossed!!!
