accutane is great. I had mild/moderate acne that dint look bad was just annoying and i hate zits!! so i got a script for accutane i only took 3 pills a week and it worked great i never got zits had mild side effects i would still be on it but i am trying to get pregnant (its about time im married for years ;)) I highly reccomend accutane.
The benefits far outway the risks.

I have these only on my cheeks, and some on my chin as well, they are only concentrated in these areas, I also get cysts. I just got prescribed accutane, but was wondering if anyone has had success getting rid of those little bumps underneath the skin?

please please please say yes!, these bumps are so annoying and feel gross to touch when I wash my face

how long did you take the pills for? did you get cysts as well, and was your skin oily? how is your skin now? How long have you been off of tane for?

not to borabard you with questions or anything ;)

btw, did you take anything else like vitmain e or zinc while on accutane? I was planning on it, but my derm told me not to as it may interfere with what the tane is doing, I don't really see how it would interfere as they are meant for different things, so i don't know if i should believe him, but i also don't want to take the chance of interfering with the accutane

thanks

Hey I took accutane (very low dose) for 2 years but my skin cleard completely after i was on it for three weeks. I only got cyts once in a blue moon . My skin was never super oily . but would often get that oily feeling. I think it was dry on the surface from all the topicals i would use. I have been off accutane since march 04.Now my skin is soso because i am on fertility treatment that messes with my hormones i get like these little white heaRAB. I get a facail evrey week to keep my skin under control.please note my skin is not as bad as before i took accutane .

I took vitamin E only

I never knew that one was allowed to be on accutane for soo long. Have you experienced any side effects due to accutane? Did your derm reccomend that you take the vita e or did you try that for yourself?

Actually Many derms allow long term use of low dose accutane. Some belive that it is less dangerous then long term use of antibiotic.
As for side effects some dry skin some dry lips dry inside my nose.
Thats about it.Nothing that some moiterizer wouldnt fix.
I decided to take the vitamin E by reading that it lessens the side effects of accutane.I actually miss my flawless skin and the moment im pregnant- and give birth I plan to go right back on.

the little tiny ones that don't hardly ever turn into pimples? Did you have them , how long after being on tane, did you see them go away? Did they come back at all after you got off accutane?

thanks for your help

Yep, they went away for nine glorious months, and now they're back.

Good times.

So you have started taking Accutane, then? How's it going?

Take care!

hey arab1,

I know that I have spoken with you before so I have probably asked you this before, (and sorry for bringing it up over and over,if I have asked you)but, how bad was your acne to begin with, was it just on your face or face and body, and how oily was your skin. As well, did you have extreme cystic acne or extreme amounts of little bumps all over your face?

NO, I have not started yet, I got the prescription but plan on doing some more research first and maybe start in Deceraber.

thanks for your help!

I am having similar issues. Have always had beautiful skin but am taking herbal hormones now. I get some of those little bumps and occassionally they turn into pimples. (becoming more frequent now) Around my period, they can get big (underneath the skin) and then turn red and inflamed. I find this extremely distressing! It isn't bad enough or regular enough to take something like Accutane, but bad enough that I need to find a solution! Stopping the herbal regimen is not an option right now. I prefer natural solutions and wish I wasn't using all this toxic stuff on my face but have no idea what to do. I am very curious about what you are doing, how it is working and if you decided to go on Accutane. I also thought you mentioned being on an herbal regimen for acne. ?? someone did
