Acculign rear set group buy...

Nick, i changed my mind, i'm going to go ahead and order my set, but prior to placing the order, I have a few questions for you so I can make the best decision on the set-up I would like to have...I PM'd you...

By the way, the Oberon plates are 100% better than the MD's...night and day...well worth the extra $30 some odd dollars, for simple little tid bits! Love the way it contours the front fairing!

Thanks!

Does anyone have the Moto GP shifting set up on their 848/1098/1198 with the Acculign's? If so, are there any install complications, like modding the lower fairing to get the shifter to shift right? or the need to put the foot peg and shifter in a awkward position to shift correctly? or trouble finding neutral or any gears? or if they need to be placed specifically a certain way in order to function correctly, but might not be appropriate for your ridding style? or any complications in general...

I'm really considering package #3, but don't want to sacrifice leg and foot positioning just to have GP shifting...Thanks!

I had the reverse lever on our 1098 project bike with Acculigns. You have to mount the reverse lever at a 2:30 position and raise the footpeg to one of the higher positions. You can adjust the toe piece on the lever to the lowest position for more comfort. You can also space the fairing out slightly to create more clearance for the lever. Some people have trimmed the "I-beam" on the reverse lever or the fairing itself for more clearance so they can lower the reverse lever to the 3:00 position.

I'm now using the MS 1098/848 "Corse" Rear Sets: Race. It has a slender reverse lever that clears our CF fairing better. It did not have to space the fairing or raise the footpeg. However I did slot the toe piece mount so I could move the toe piece forward.

Yes. I hear that in level 4 is like open track time but with a track coach trailing you the whole time. In Level 4 there is no classroom lectures at all. It's pretty much you on the track working with your track coach on anything you still need work on.

what's the format for level 4?

level 4 they sent me out a questionaire about your riding. what your having trouble with and what you need to improve, stuff like that....once you have done level 4 you can keep doing it, its like a personal coach for the day.....awesome....you can go out in any session you like and practice practice practice

Level 4 is pretty much open track time but you do still do classroom lectures. At least that's how the 2 day camps were run. This year was my third year doing the 2 day camps. Since I finished last year at level 4, I just did 2 days of level 4 this year. The classroom time is more about just talking over what you and your riding coach went over on the track. It gives the opportunity for you to hear what others are working on any pick up any tips or topics which you yourself may not be working on but is a good to know.
