is needed on ...? According to 150 top marine researchers, in a declaration today, urgent action is needed on ocean acidification. How much effort should we put into solving this problem?

Edit: Bravozulu, “acidification” refers to a drop in pH. The pH of the oceans is still greater than 7 ( neutral), so the oceans could also be described as becoming “less alkaline”. Either way, the pH is dropping.
 
How convenient; Now that the theory of co2 causing global warming seems to be going down, they are now saying co2 will destroy life in the oceans.
 
It must be getting close to review time where they have to convince congress or some bureaucracy to fund them. Acidification is the stupidest thing I ever heard of. It is not acidic in the first place. It has a pH of over 8. It is warming so CO2 is being released into the atmosphere. That means that it is not increasing in the ocean. It is just a shameless attempt to spread false and actually silly stories of doom.

Calculate the amount of CO2 it would take to even neutralize the pH of the ocean and you see how idiotic that idea is. It is meant to scare non scientists who don't know what acid actually means.
 
lots. its the same solutions as for agw, except it shows the albedo changing and 'shading' geoengineering solutions would not be advisable.

another worrying thing is the possibility of widespread ocean anoxia if ocean currents stall.
