Accident - Need a little advice

Hey fella glad to see your ok if not a bit banged up but at least you walked away from it btw why don't you truck your bike to the dealer?

Good to know your OK. Wishing you a speedy recovery and thumbs up for wearing your gear.

Shit happens and consider it a part of the learning curve to riding safely. You will learn from this and become more experienced...it happens to everyone.

I had a similar situation back in 04. Just picked up my 998 and 2 weeks later a dumbfuck rear ended me at a stop sign...fortunately the bike had minimal damage and i rode it straight to the dealership in Melbourne, Australia called Moto One.

They assessed it and told me they would right it off as it had less than 200klm on the clock.

I allowed them to deal with the insurance guys (fortunately the driver was insured) but i had to be on their backs constantly...making 4 to 5 calls to the assessor every day until i got my pay out.

They also replaced my Arai helmet, Dainese jacket and gloves as these were also new.

I'm not sure how it works in the U.S but you've got to hackle the insurance company otherwise they will let it slide for months.

Good luck to you and hope your back on a ducati again soon!

Wow....that certainly sucks....but glad that nothing worse happened....as they say...there are only two types of riders...the ones that have been down and the ones that will go down.

So...you actually got it out of the way...all the best for a speedy recovery....

Glad you're O.K. just make sure you jump right back up on that horse as soon as possible. Looks like you ought to have a couple of nice scars, they're always good for telling stories. My left knee and ankle were trashed up pretty good and I always love it when someone asks how I got them.

Yeah the doctor was real cautious telling me "You're going to have a pretty decent scar". I was like "I damn well better. I"m not going through all of this and not having a scar as evidence!"

Hey man, I don't want to sound like your mom but don't get an 1198. By what you said of your crash you need more time on the 848 before you consider getting an 1198 (not that 115Hp is very low powered!). The 848 is alot more forgiving than a 1098/1198, spend some time learning how to ride an 848 well and then when you finally do get a bigger bike you will be a lot safer and more than that you will enjoy it hell of a lot more!
