Accident - Need a little advice

Hey Guys,

I wrecked my bike the other night. Minimal damage to me except road rash a deep, but manageable, hole in the left of my abdomen.

I'm needing to get an estimate for repair to send to my insurance adjuster, but the closest Ducati shop is 2 hours away. Should I truck my bike up to the shop, or is there a more convenient way to go about this?

Pictures of the damage are below - no damage to the right side of the bike.

Glad you were wareing your gear and you still got banged up a bit, hope you get well soon Bro! How are the frame tabs? Did you ride it home, looks like it. Way to Man up and say "I" crashed and not have some long winded excuse for why it happened. Glad you are OK.

After taking a second look at the damage I think we was a high speed wheelie gone wrong. Notice all the damage is on the upper area of the bike and the shift lever(the most delicate part on the bike) is un damaged and is usually the first thing to break on a left hand low side.

I wasn't going all that fast - was looking at the road, not the dash (wildlife in the area) - but the doctor thinks I landed on a rock after the jacket rode up, which caused the damage to my side.

I was cornering left and riding the outside lane when I hit a patch of sand, pushing me into a curb. I'm sure my inexperience played into it - I probably shouldn't have been in the outside lane for one.

Hey man sorry about your crash, the best way is to take it to the dealer, they know what they are looking for such as bent frame tabs etc and they will know how much it will cost to put it all togeather. Don't just let the adjuster come out and give you his best guess.

What make of jacket did you have on? it seems like it did not do its job very well.

Heal up fast.

Thanks for the advice. It's an old Joe Rocket - maybe 8 years old I got from a friend for free. It was 90 degrees out, so I took the liner out of it. Just had the outer shell on. Glad I had that though. If it hadn't rode up, I wouldn't have almost any damage at all.
