i've ordered my own N1 and its on the way, but I have a slight problem as I will be using 2 connections initially. one which would be just to receive smses.

is there any android applicaiton out there that can be used to access the smses on another paired bluetooth phone?
or is there any other way of doin it?like enabling remote sim access on the other phone and accesing it thro the N1 or something like that?

In short - no.

Some recent SMS messages may be still stored on your SIM card, so putting the SIM card in your Android phone may allow you to get copies of the last 2 or 3, it depends what your other phone did with them (copied, or moved).

You don't say what your other phone is. If it's another Android phone then there are a number of apps out there that can backup SMS messages (either to SD card or GMail). You could then restore them onto your N1. If it's another type of phone, then unfortunately every phone stores messages internally in a different way. You can sometimes backup the messages from your other phone (I could do this with my Nokia, for example), but the problem then is that they're stored in some custom file format on your computer, and nothing in the Android world can read them.

Maybe you could find an app for your other phone that can save the SMS messages in some standardised format, like CSV, and some app that can import that format on Android, but I don't know of any.
