Our humanity is the product of the experience, abysmal despair and overwhelming joy which we derive from our thoughts. Though we are a product of the physical world it does little more than influence our thought. It is our perception of the physical world that constructs who we are. Accepting the above (for the love of argument and continuing our history of confrontation) the physical world therefore is far less relevant than the world formulated in your mind. It therefore follows to say that we would be equally human no matter our physical form, our bipedal gait and bare flesh do not define who we are, we could occupy the body of a boulder and be equally human as long as our thought process remains static, as long as we can see our selves as grand in our minds then the more relevant mental world shall continue to exist. This is why Nurture trumps Nature for it is the physical world that you are powerless to alter but our mental existence is a world of our choosing and our mental existence is who we fundamentally are
