How can I tell if I have ABS on my Jeep Liberty? And if I dont have it, can I get one installed?
Ok, I got in and started it up. I looked at each light that lit up. None of them were an ABS light but I looked over each section and noticed that there was an ABS light. If it doesnt light up when I start up the car, does that mean that it isnt installed?

Not practical to have installed unless you've gopt bucks to burn.

Look in your glovebox owners manual. Look at the alarm/indicator lights described therein. One described should be an ABS light. If your jeep has no ABS alarm light, then it's got no ABS.

If you have abs there would be a light in your dash that lights up when you turn the key to the on position. You would have electrical wires going to the back of your wheel bearings. You would also see under the hood, follow the brake lines from the master cylinder, a aluminum box that had a number of brake lines running into and out of it.
As far as installing a system where there wasn't one would be very expensive. Over $1000 easy.

if you have abs you,ll notice the abs pump right below the master cylinder,if it doesn't have it its almost impossible to add it to a vehicle because it integrates in the wiring system on most vehicles and some wiring harnesses wont be set up for it,cars either came with ot or without it,good luck.
