about wage garnishments?

I had a court ordered garnishment that is now complete.

The law firm that is representing the company is stating that I still have a balance that will need to complete either through another garnishment or they will check with the company to to see if they will settle for a agreeable amount of the left over amount.

If the court stated that I was to pay back a certain amount do I still have to pay the remainder even though the garnishment is completed.

What ever it is that you owe, you need to pay. What is the additional amount for that they say you still owe. If it is interest or fees that have been added while you were paying the other then you may be able to get them to waive those. How much is the balance, they might take a lot less just to settle the matter. Be sure to get a letter stating that the debt has been paid in ful.

once the garnishment is complete - based on what info your company received, they should stop the garnishment - any other money you allegedly owe would have to go thru the courts again to get another garnishment order
