About to buy a toyota 4-runner, what do i look for?

im about to buy a 1994 toyota 4-runner with 135000 miles on it for 3200. First question is is that a good price? And what kinds of things should i look for beofre buying it. Is there anyway to tell if the engine is good without having to take to the mechanic like checking the oil/ gages?
 
I would advise that, for car that old and that many miles, you should take it to a mechanic. It's not wise to take the word of a seller about an old car's condition, even if it seems to drive okay. Remember, you can't take it back after the sale.
