Welcome, Louise! Wonderful post!

You listed so many great movies. Big Fish is great; it's so underrated. It's not perfect, but it's definitely dreamy and charismatic. The Prestige is one of my all time favorite movies!

Hi all  I'm Louise, 21, UK

Just looking through this page made me remember some great films i'd forgotten about-'Big Fish' and 'Meet Joe Black'

I love most genres but i definately have a thing for Japanese films, especially Takeshi Miike, although sometimes his films can be a little too disturbing for me. I love films that make you think and feel-even if you hate them. The worst kind of films are the one that are passable, a waste of a couple of hours and just make you feel meh.

My favourite film: Tough tie between 'Love me if you dare'/'Jeux d'enfants' and 'Battle Royale'.

My favourite romance: 'Sliding Doors', i never get tired of watching that.

Favourite comedy: 'Little Miss Sunshine'.

Fave trilogy: 'The Godfather'. 'Infernal Affairs' is awesome too but i only really like part 1.

Honourable mentions: 'Crouching Tiger hidden Dragon', 'Pans Labrynth', 'The Prestige', 'American History X', 'The Constant Gardener' and 'The Matrix'.

Went to see 'Blindside' the other day it was quite good but nothing special imo.
Really looking forward to going to see 'The Ghost Writer' with Ewan McGregor as i loved Robert Harris' novels. DVD wise, next on my list is 'Rome, Open City'.

Like Dirty Dancing, My Cousin Vinny is a movie that every single time it's on tv (Which is a lot) I can't not watch it. I leave it on and watch it no matter if it's the beginning, middle or end of the movie....

Hey guys

Been on this board for a while now but never came here.. since this is the movie board I would have to say my favorite movies would be, in category.

Romantic: Meet Joe Black (I love this movie to death, cry every time, just had my girlfriend watch it with me this past weekend and she loved it)

Drama: Girl Interrupted (Angelina Jolie's performance along side Winona Ryder was above excellence)

Horror/Suspense: The Hannibal Series, though Red Dragon is not of my favorites, Silence Of The Lambs is beyond brilliant and the same with Hannibal Rising.

Comedy: My Cousin Vinny (Come on who doesn't love Vinny :lmao:)
& The Hangover (:rotfl: simple as that)

I have more of course, like classics, Jurassic Park, Donnie Darko, The Others, We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story, and plenty of more.

Marian: Love the Breakfast Club---but who wouldn't! :)

Dork: Love the name, btw! The Green Mile was a great movie--did you read the books?

Hi! I'm Marian. :D I've been posting on shows & celebrities I like, but I never got around to posting here before. I love documentaries, romantic comedies, comedies, indie films & adventure movies. Also, the occasional drama, period piece and action flick.

Fave movies: There are a lot, but my top 5 (in no particular order) are Empire Records, Dead Poets Society, The Breakfast Club, Big Fish and Almost Famous.

Hi!

I'm Gerald. I'm from the Philippines. I'm 21 years old. I love to watch movies. My favorites so far are The Green Mile, Shawshank Redemption, Star Trek, The Last Castle, Avatar, National Treasure, The Hangover and Invincible. :)

Welcome, Maria!

That was definitely a cool summer if you didn't understand the movies that much because you were so young. Hee! :D

Hi everyone! I'm Maria, 17-years-old and from Finland. I LOVE movies, I love horror, romantic, comedy and drama movies, so everything kind of movie goes for me :).
When I was 5 or 6 years old, I watched my first James Bond -movie with my dad :D, other time when me and my brother were both sick, we watched Scream 2, I was 6 years old, and now I have been thinking, what kind of dad and brother I have :D, but I didn't kind of understood those movies then.
Now my favorite movies are 500 Days of Summer, Marley & Me and Pay It Forward.

Welcome, Air! And thank you for the new thread! We're glad to have you. Your major sounds amazing. :D I agree about being emotionally invested, but I do love a Horror movie.

Hey everyone! I started a thread and didn't even introduce myself. I'm Air and I usually post on here in the TV fandom, but I'm actually a film production major currently and would love to start posting here. I love all genres - but the genre I know least about is horror and I'm trying to fix that. I love anything depressing, lots of drama and intrigue and I love action as well. But I love comedy and romance too - anything that gets me way too emotionally invested is usually a good sign.

Welcome, Emily! Predictable movies upset me so much when they try to pass things off as "clever" when you knew everything that was going to happen 15 minutes into the movie.
