About sidekick lx 2009 and aim ?

ok so I have a sidekick that is out of minuets and I can't txt nobody and nobody can txt me but when I had minutes I subscribed to facebook so everytime something happens on facebook I get a txt and I can txt back. but when I ran out of minutes I still get the text and I can reply.I was wondering is their something like that for aim where I can get a txt msg whenever I get a new aim or I can send a message throughout aim without any minutes on my phone like I do with facebook
