Coming from a Service Technician, DLP to be honest is one of the worst TVS, on the Average you have to replace that bulb every one to two years if your lucky. And make sure you have the right bulb if it is that much dimmer and a new bulb.
EDIT:
After asking someone, you could have bought a defective blb, I would see if I could get it replaced again, if less then 30 Days since you bought it, they may replace it for free. something to try.
