I recently purchased a '93 Toyota Carolla for $250 that runs fine & I ordered a new exaust manifold for it since the weld had apoxy sealant on the small crack in it. The problem I have now is that the transmission that was bought from a scrap yard & installed by the previous owner is slinging (or dumping if you will) trans. fluid horribly onto the pavement when you put it in gear & when it runs out it was make a God awful squealing sound like the torque converter is spinning with no fluid or something & the car dosen't move unless you floor it in which case I do not try with it now. is there still hope for it or did he get screwed out of $300 on this scrapyard tranny? Could this be a seal or the torque converter? Or perhaps a cracked bellhousing? Maybe it needs a whole new transmission all together? Help me out here lol I was just going to use it as a little gas saver car for long trips but needs fixed first. Thanks!
