About My 2007 Pontiac G6 Radio Dash Kit?

I just got 2007 G6 and i want to get rid of the stock radio..and replace it with a aftermarket radio. do i have to get the dash kit with the D.I.C builted in that show the mpg, trip meter etc,,.. or can i get a normal dash kit without the D.I.C ?
