about motion guide in flash mx 2004..?

i have my project in computer literacy particularly in flash mx 2004, the problem is about creating a motion guide for a simple shape but the shape must change into another shape with also a change in the color of the said shape as the object moves through the motion guide, my problem is that how do i change the object and color of the object, for example in the starting point, it'll go as a red circle then when it comes near to the end of the motion guide, it'll become for example a blue square? please help me, thanks and more power..
 
There are 2 ways to change its colour but only one way to shape tween. but there is a basic problem in what you are being asked to do. flash wont allow a motion tween and a shape tween on the same object on the same layer, you either shape or motion, not both at least not on the same layer.

so option 1 is to make the object a movieclip, double click it to go into its edit setting. create a keyframe lets say at frame 20. then click any frame between 1 and 20 and create a shape tween, move your mouse near the oblect and it turns to a cursor with bendy line and use this to distort your object. you can also click anywhere add a keyframe and change its colour with the fill tool. then return to the stage.

or to change is colour on the time line do this. make a keyframe anywhere on the time line, go to colour effect in the properties and choose tint and change its colour there. you can only see a shape tween when you control return to test movie.
