About Midi/Keyboard?

I have a most unusual question, and I really hope that someone can help me. I used to have windows XP home edition that did everything I needed in regards to music. With my Midi/Keyboard and using Golden Records as my Burning and Converting program, but after 7 years my poor Computer went belly up forever, so I bought another Computer, an Acer with windows 7, and that's when the trouble started. I can still do/record songs into my keyboard but for the life of me I cannot convert the Midi into Mp3 or Wma or Wave or into anything anymore, if I try any convert it, it just comes out all gobbly gook, but still plays back from the keyboard itself Beautiful as any player would know. Luckily I'd saved all my songs to USB as I did them on my other Computer: Compaq, so I've still got them, thank God. I did figure out a way to burn my good ones to cd-r in windows 7 but that in itself was a pain. So, is there anyway to convert Midi to another format or is windows 7 incapable of doing such a thing? or maybe it's so simple I just cant see it. I really hope someone out there can help me as I cant do any more songs. I also use the Yamaha PSR 1500 keyboard. I'd hate to think Ive wasted $1000 on a new Computer if windows 7 turns out to be worse than XP *cry cry* If someone can help me then I'm willing to send you a couple of my songs that I've done before the other one stopped working. My address [email protected] and I thank you all again .Cheers, Eric: Master Musician
