About how much would it cost for me to get new brakes on an 02 Ford Escort.?

I am starting to hear some grinding noise when I push hard on the brake, but a gentle stop is still ok. Any advice is greatly appreciated along with a place that might be good to go. I live in the Binghamton, NY area
