About how much will it run to get a speedometer for a 1992 Dodge Spirit fixed?

My son just bought a car, and the speedometer doesn't work. We dont want to get ripped off on parts and labor, so was hoping someone could tell me what's typical for that. Thanks!

mine went out years ago and no one would work on it, even the dealership. said it was a fed. law. i live in arkansas and they had to send it to dallas to get it fixed and way back then it cost $125. the dealer had to send it in
