about alt.binaries.sounds.mp3.complete_cd

Hi

I am a real novice when it comes to these newsgroups thing.

Is there a website when I can search every complete cd that is currently in mp3 mode and it is nzb format?

Thanks

Thanks

I just had a check of that site. Whata terrible layout. So hard to search anything.

Has anyone else got any suggestions?

Yes it is my ISP in Australia.

It provides a free Usenet service - 40 day retention. Apparently it feeds off SuperNews in the US

Just change the "Results per page". :dabs:

I put in alot of titles and they didn't even come up. I thought binsearch was meant to have all the major news groups?

It does. What are you looking for?

What a flop this Usenet thing is.

Yes, what a flop. It's only host to literally millions of files.

You said yourself that you're a "real novice". Why not take a moment and ask some specific questions before jumping to conclusions?

That's pretty damn good binary retention for an ISP. I think mine (and most) offer like 4 days.

That's probably why your getting a lot of error though. ISP news server are notorious for it, I think.

If your looking for a good host, I'd suggest Giganews.

OK here is where I am really confused.

I have downloaded GrabIt and have performed a search on "allgroups" I put in the phrase 70's and up came the following list:

alt.binaries.sounds.1970's.mp3 The article count is 36613

My problem now if how do I actually access all of these articles. If I doubleclick on the above it does not do anything. If I right click it asks me to subscribe. Now what do I do.

PLease help. Also why does GrabIt look more like a server rather than a client? :)

i hate grabit it has problems with the larger groups.

I would try ike's newsleecher guide. it does a good job of explaining things.

also 40 days retention for an isp is pretty good.
