I am set to do a church debate regarding abortion. Although I am a strong Christian, I am pro-choice. Many people critized me for my stand, so we all decided to hold a debate, to see eachother's sides.
When God created the garden of Eden, he told us not to eat the fruit. He gave us a choice. We could sin, or we could be faithful to God. He didn't want to force us into submission to Him, so he offered us a choice between good and evil, and Adam and Eve were free to choose.
So, shouldn't we offer women the same choice God offered us? He tells us to 'do on Earth as it is done in Heaven', so we should be modeling ourselves after God, thus offering pregnant women a choice, just as God did to Adam and Eve. Although I believe abortion is wrong, a woman has a right to her own body and should be given a choice. She can either sin, and rid of her child, or she could be faithful to God and deliver the child. The same choice God offered us.
I know it's long, but is it a good argument? Please tell me if you agree or disagree with it, and why :]
