ok, i am a 19 years old (male), two weeks ago i noticed my bottom front or my left chest was sticking out a bit, at first i thought i must of slept funny or something, but two weeks later it is still there, it sticks out about a one or two centimeter, hard for other people to notice unless i get the angle right or lie down, but strangely it seems to be my left ribs, i have not noticed any pain from it apart from when i spent a night poking & rubbing it gave me bruised left ribs for a day or two lol, after it reached its size i have not noticed it changing anymore.
at times i have also felt what seems to be my ribs moving or the feel of rumbling/grinding inside/on my left ribs, it fist happened a week after having swollen like left ribs, when i was lying against the wall on my bed watching TV, at first i heard it & was trying to listen where it was coming from in my room as i didn't notice it was me, in my mind i was like, "what is that?", then i felt it like grinding/bubbling/rumbling inside/on my left ribs? (a bit hard to explain what it was like) it lasted about 7 -10 seconds, at first i as like, "yay my ribs moved back in, got up, to see it was still there though it felt strangely better (though it could of been because i thought had felt it disintegrate back into my chest lol), but that did make it ache for the next day, then back to being painless.
The last two days i have been taking Ibuprofen to see if that affects my ribs, i am not very in shape or active & over the last few years i have gone from 11 stone to almost 16 stone & am 6 foot tall & my diet is terrible, i spend a lot of time on the computer laying on my left side with my elbow on my bed, which i cant imagine being a very good posture, i am planning to go hospital next week to see what it is, i do not want to tell my mother until i know what it is, this is as i would not like to stress her out as she finds her work very stressful.
to be honest this makes no difference to my day apart from the constant worry of it being there, i can still sleep on my left side at night but can feel it a bit, i would be thankful for any posts back about information on what it could possibly be, if u have the same thing, or have any advice, maybe exercises for it, good way to sleep as it it there, diet or anything you would like to mention. i will reply to any questions asked & keep this thread informed of the situation & what i find out at hospital as many previous threads do not. < edited >
Thank you for reading & responses, cheers
