AB/back - ANYONE?

I bought one of those ab/back machines to use in my home daily. You press forward to strengthen the back, press backward to strengthen the abs.
And its weighted.
I can't walk or do any excersize, with out causing more sycatic pain, so I thought this might help me strengthen.
I am gaining weight from being so sedentary.
Does anyone have any advise on this, please and thank you!
 
The most important thing is to be sure that you are using good posture, keeping yourself in proper alignment and engaging your core muscles when you use the machine. Be sure you are not extending (arching) your back. And as always, if it hurts or you are more sore afterwarRAB, discontinue the activity!
