a900 problems

I used to have sprint and had an a900. When I found out that cricket was cdma, i googled a900 cricket and found many message boarRAB with info on how to do this. So here's what I did. I had previously used qpst to put ringtones and games on my a900, so I have used the program before. I downloaded cricket prl_1039.prl and renamed it to prl_0000 and used qpst to put it in nam/prl over the top of the prl_0000 file that was there. I did it this way because I couldn't get the service programming in qpst to recognize the phone. Anyways the phone rebooted, gets to the pcs vision screen, right before the screen that says looking for service, but then just keeps rebooting. Is there a way to fix this or should I just throw it away? I went ahead and activated a cdm-7025 (the cheap cricket phone) thinking that if i can find a way to get my a900 out of the reboot loop i could switch to it later. If anyone knows how to get the phone back to a state where i can reprogram it again, it would be greatly appreciated. PS. The data on the phone isn't all that important, so a factory reset would be okay with me.

for one you uploaded the prl wrong you should have used QPST to program the prl read up on flashing the phone and where to find the software for it

But it's bricked right? I don't understand why the method worked for someone else on the forum and not me. Like I said, I know how to use qpst. Service Programming dosen't work with the a900 which is why i used the efs explorer method. the RL editor says the original off the phone and the one i uploaded (1039) are the same format. So why do you want it if it dosen't work?

The phone should be able to be flashed in emergency mode with the correct Samsung PST program and the correct .bin files. This is VERY common with A900.

QPST will error out half way through but it still loaRAB the prl. The only reason it errors out is because the NV_SECURITY file is protected on the phone from QPST it writes the prl just fine.

I never recomend just dumping the prl with bitpim mayb this will help others learn from this as well..

2nd the phone isnt bricked this will teach you how to flash phones search its been posted at other places like black cat said above me put the phone in emergency mode LOOK IT UP and flash with the correct pst and bin file and itll be fine.

So I can flash it if if get the program and a firmware image?

Edit: By emergency mode, do you mean like when you dial 911? It won't even boot past the pcs vision screen.

I'm really sorry that I came off as such a **** before. I found the how to boot it in emergency flash mode. I thought you meant e911 mode. Now all I need is to google some more for a version of unipst that likes the a900. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

What version of unipst do I need to do this? I can't get any of them to recognize the phone. The closest i get is with Universal PST 1.0.001. No other version I have even has the A900.
