I am considering getting a new phone and cannot decide between the samsung a900 or the motorola v3c( verizon razor). Any input would be appreciated.. thanks

I just went through the exact same decission.

I decided on the A900.

2 factors that pushed me over the edge:
Screen resolution and color
Monthly cost of EV-DO.

Also, I like having less common phone, and it seems that Motorola RAZR's are everywhere.

Good luck.

I was very disappointed with the verizon razr

I had it for a day before returning it for the a900. The razr is the ghetto a900, at least on verizon's market.

Verizon locks out features on the razr, which first and foremost includes this crappy Red menu bar and service/battery bar. You can't change it, and it limits the size of your wallpaper... Check out TMobile or Cingular's razr versus Verizon and you will see a DRASTIC difference! I would only consider the razr on tmobile or cingular, not verizon.

The one thing with the razr that you CAN do that you CAN'T on the a900 is change the ringer to vibrate while the phone is closed. I do like that feature, but for an overall better phone I can live without it.

The a900 has better screen quality front and inside, and overall better features. It actually comes with 30 preloaded ringtones, unlike 2 "actual" ringers from verizon. The camera quality is phenomenal, and you will love the fact that it swivels. The a900 is the best bang for your buck, while the Razr y ou will have to pay $250-300 out of pocket then receive a rebate.

They are very similar phones, but when you put the 2 next to each other you will clearly see that the a900 is a better phone.
Also the Razr, on verizon's market is like a "graphite blue/grey" but humerously enough the color doesn't match each panel on the phone - the metal components are darker then the plastic components... noticeably darker. Good luck buying

Last thing... make your decision based on service as well. If you like verizon's service better, get verizon, but I'd suggest a better phone then the razr. If all your friends have "IN" calling, go for verizon. Also consider if you text message verizon gives you unlimited "IN" but only 50 out of network, while sprint offers 500 any texts, for the same price. The decision can be really based on what services you will be connecting to with your family and friends.
Also consider that verizon charges you a month in advance and always has billing problems. Your first bill will be not only prorated for the first month of your service, but will also have your 2nd month of service.
