A900 and *228, phone hangs......

As an update, I reprogrammed (loaded PRL 1040 and set SPC to 000000) a Qwest Samsung a880 today. I tried out the *2 and *228 and they do not go to Cricket OTASP.
When I dialed *2, it beeped and if I would of waited long enough, I would have gotten an American roaming message. When I dialed *228, I got "Your account could not be verified" message from Sprint. I dialed the *228XX code and it went to Cricket OTASP.
On the other hand, I did a Sanyo 8100, LG PM325 and an LG LX1200 and they did go to Cricket OTASP when I dialed *2 or *228.
I also have an unactivated Qwest PPC6700 with one of Helmi's custom Windows Mobile 5 ROM on it and when I dial *2 on it, it says "I'm sorry, your phone is not authorized to make calls at this time". When I dial *228, it goes to Cricket OTASP.
NO, *2 does not work on all reprogrammed phones and especially on reprogrammed Samsung Sprint or Qwest phones.

Have you tried manually programming phone then try *228 to see if it successfully program. im guessing you want the customer to be able to update via *228? if after manually programming phone and you still cannot *228 successfully I dont know what the problem could be....maybe a bad flash file i have seen that happen as well with same exact results even after manually programming. last resort try finding another flash file and reflash.

Here to solve the problem
*228 on another phone make sure OTA is actually working.....
Second of all *2 WILL WORK WITH ANY PHONE.... *2 is just short for *228
try it i dial *2 on my music lg works, works with my mogul, works with my 6700, works with my q works with my blackberry, fusic, chocolate.... I can go on Normally i just dail *2....

Make sure your over the air works...... SounRAB to me like cricket has it down for maitnitce right now

Thats what I have been trying to tell you guys. I live in a weird market, one of the original markets. I had Cricket here in 1997. What goes for you guys, doesn't work for those of us in the very old markets. That why I have been *****ing. Not everything works everywhere. And you guys tell me I am a ******* who doesn't know what I am doing.

*2 doesn't work on either of my active lines. But *228 does, so OTA isn't down.

I hate this market.

I did *228 on an Upstage and some otehr Samsung sprint phone i can't remmeber, so it depenRAB on the phone. It also helps *228 if you program the right sid to the phone at least.

when i *228 on an upstage the phone (temporarily) reloaRAB a sprint prl and connects to sprint until you power cycle (then gives you your cricket PRL back) :(

over here all you need to do after you load the Cricket PRL is dail *2 and it OTA's for cricket been doing it for a while now and no problems what so ever. new or old Samsung's or any other Sprint phone for that matter, as far as setting 6 3's to the phone, to each his own, i rather just set everything to all 0's cause it's easy and OTA'ing is a lot easyer i think to be honest, as far as other Markts having *2 not work, like all you guy's have said, *22804 in most cases will work, however i think it be just easy to set everything to all 0's and i have yet to see or have a Sprint go back to the Sprint PRL when one hits *2. oh well just my 2 cents worth.

PS: Samsung A900 is a very commen phone i get and after PRL flashing *2 work's all the time, i had someone send a A900 back to NY Market, and *2 worked for them, etc.

Ok Here Is The Deal Once And For All......

On A Sprint Sanyo Or OlRABkool Samsung If You Do Not Set The Spc To 000000 The Phone Will Shut Off During Programing When Using *2 Or *228. Change The Spc To 000000 And You Will Be Okay.

Have A Good Day And Stop *****in At Each Other On Here!
