'A very long engagement' (Audrey Tatou)

Anyone else seen this?

Rented it from 'Choices' on Sat evening.

Having got 'Amelie' on DVD, and having already put it on my favouriet films of all time pile, I knew that Jeunet's latest offering had a lot to live up to, so my expectations were a little low.....

...oh my GOD! What an amazing film! This has shot up into my Top 10 films of all time. Tatou is, of course, amazing, but the direction, photography, and plot line will take your breath away.

Surprised to see Jodie Foster in a cameo appearance.

havn't seen it as yet but I've seen a trailor and I love the look of it. Amelie was amazing and I like to see all the vibrant colours continue into this one.
Audry - mmmmmmm tasty but there was one film I saw her in ages ago where she speaks english. Can't remember what it's called..... not the best of acting from ms tatou but I'm sure she makes up for it working with jeunet.

Yes, I saw it in February. I wasn't sure what I thought of it on the whole (the ending was a bit too happy for my liking ;)) but it was a very beautiful film; the colours were wonderful and Audrey Tatou was very good :) (I still haven't seen Amelie, so can't compare :o)

I've seen her in an English-speaking role in Stephen Frears's Dirty Pretty Things, I'm not sure if that's the film shizer nizer is referring to.

Audry is back in the movie charts in France as one of the (many) characters in Klapisch's follow-up to "Spanish Apartment" called "Russian Dolls". She is playing a more contemporary, realistic role as an ex-girlfriend of the lead character. Not sure when the UK release is. And speaking of dolls, look out for Belgian Cecile de France.
