...What does this all mean? I am a beginner looking into cars. I am interested in buying an MR2 in the future but know absolutely nothing about its engine.
Is this an economic engine (in terms of fuel consumption)?

4 cylinder engine. That means there are 4 cylinders, or 4 pistons, which means it is better on gas.

Unleaded means use regular gas. Do NOT use mid-grade, premium, or Diesel fuel.

1.8L means 1.8 Liters, which is the size of the engine. 1.8L=1800 Cubic centimeters or 1796cc like you said.
Another example is that a square tile on the floor is 1 square foot in size.

Multi Point Injected=It is fuel injected, which means it is more reliable and more fuel efficient than older, carbuerated cars.

So yes, it is a fuel efficient engine.

The 4 cylinder means it has 4 pistons. The unleaded thing means it is suitable for burning unleaded gas which is all we have now. The 1796 cc is the displacement of the engine or size. CC stands for cubic centimeters. Multi-point injected means that that each cylinder has its own injector for delivering fuel to it. This injection system is very efficient. most all new cars use it. The mr2 will be great on gas due to the light weight and small engine. Not very cheap to work on but it should make you a great eco car they don't give much trouble.
