A-Team Film!

The A-Team was one of the best T.V show of the 80's however they are appartently remaking it for the big screen. I have heard these rumours before with George Clooney being cast as Hannibal and Jim Carrey as Murdock!
However they want to remake it seriously not a comedy version like they did with Starsky And Hutch. They are going to update the timeframe from Vietnam and they are hoping it will be quite similar to Die Hard. The writer on the film is set to be Bruce Feirstein, who has written a number of James Bond films (or at least drafts of James Bond films) like Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies. I just hope it doesnt turn out to be too serious and lose what made the A-Team great in the first place!
Anybody else got any opitions on the A-Team being remade?
 
It could be great IF its done properly and they get proper actors and Jim Carey doesn't go too OTT with his supposedly funny stuff like he usually does. Any news on who will play Face. I loved him so much, when I was 6 I wanted him to wait for me to grow up so I could marry him :-) the joys of being 6 and thinking that could actually happen. I hope its set in the 70s and not now.
 
Expect it to be set present day with ex-Gulf War vets. I think it's a smart move going serious, look at the fan backlash of Charlie's Angels TV to Movie, same with Starsky & Hutch.

Rumour-mill also suggests Mr.T (B.A), Dwight Schultz (Murdock) and Dirk Benedict (Face) will all be offered cameos as other characters. Mind you, one report did say all the original actors would be reprising their roles except for Mr.T... so George Peppard is back from the dead?! Now there's a plan he'd like to see come together!!

Clooney is my first choice for Hannibal, Brad Pitt for Face - those two have great chemisty in Ocean's Eleven. Murdock is a tougher one to cast, I beg not Brendan Fraser (he simply can't act) and I'm not sure about Jim Carrey, would be good if they don't allow him to "showcase" his usual "trademarks". Jamie Kennedy would be good in that role actually. As for B.A... there is only on B.A. and that's Mr.T... even Dirk Benedict has said that!
 
Gotta say, the whole thing about the a-team was it was un-original, badly acted, badly scripted, but somehow it worked.

If they remake it, no matter how hard they try, its not gonna work. Big names would ruin the innocent charm, and simplicity of the a-team. A decent script, or good acting would just not work...................leave it in the archive where it can be enjoyed for what it is, a true classic.
 
I got an autograph from Dirk Benedict a couple of weeks ago and I asked him whether there was gonna be an A Team movie, and if he was going to star in it. He said he wasn't sure and that he wasn't going to star in it if there was a remake - Bullsh*tter!
 
That just leaves Hawaii 5-0 and The Man From UNCLE to be bolloxed up on the big screen by people with no feeling or love for the source material. :(
